This set of 4 models represents the Pratt & Whitney JT3C axial-flow turboject engines fit to early Douglas DC-8 Series 10 airliners.  The JT3C saw extensive service with commercial airlines for many decades.

A set of JT3C engines with pylons appropriate for Boeing 707 and Boeing 720 models will be made available separately.

The JT3C turbojet is the civil variant of the J57 engine used in military aircraft such as the early B-52 Stratofortress, B-57 Canberra, C-135 Stratolifter, KC-135 Stratotanker, F4D Skyray, F-8 Crusader, F-100 Super Sabre, F-101 Voodoo, F-102 Delta Dagger, A3D Skywarrior, etc..  The JT3C engine was very loud. To help reduce sound, the JT3C turbojet engine was further developed into the JT3D turbofan.
