Scale: 1/144
Set includes 2 rangefinders.
The 4-meter SL-6 and SL-8 "Basisgeräte" rangefinder served the 105mm anti-aircraft battery of many World War Two-era, heavy German Navy warships including Bismarck, Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Graf Zeppelin, and the heavy cruisers Prinz Eugen, Admiral Hipper and Blücher. These rangefinders likely would have been fit to the planned H-Klasse super-battleships, O-Klasse battlecruisers, and aircraft carrier Peter Strasser. The rangefinders were protected by lightly armored hemispheres.
The rangefinders were electro-hydraulically stabilized. Because the rangefinders automatically changed their orientation in reaction to the motion of the ship, they were nicknamed "Wackeltopf" ("wobblypots") by their crews.
Dimensions of one rangefinder:
- Diameter at base = 29.15 mm
- Length front to rear = 29.15 mm
- Width = 32.06 mm
- Height (including post at rear) = 21.62 mm
