This four-part set represents the shrouded exhausts of the Packard V-1650 Merlin-powered P-51 Mustang fighter of World War Two and later, specifically the P-51B, P-51C, P-51D and P-51K.  The V-1650 was a Rolls Royce Merlin engine license-built in the United States by Packard Motor Car Company.

Packard-built Merlins were also fit to the P-51H Mustang, P-63 King Cobra, and P-40F Warhawk.  Packard-built Merlins were fit to many de Havilland Mosquito and Avro Lancaster aircraft built in Canada.

These parts are an original 3D design based on measurements made from a surviving Packard-bult V-1650-7 Merlin engine and scans of original North American Aviation blueprints available through AirCorpsLibrary.com. The Packard V-1650-7 was the common powerplant of the P-51D and P-51K Mustang (Mustang Mk.IV and CA-18 Mk.21).

The models are not 3D-printed copies of any plastic or resin kit's parts.  Therefore, they may be sized, shaped and detailed differently than the parts in your kit.  Depending on which kit you have, some adjustment to your kit's parts may be needed for best fit.

These parts are left- and right-handed.  When installing your parts, position them so the side with the wider-spaced nuts is down.

Caution is recommended when cutting away the attachment sprue and when handling these parts.  The exhausts are very thin.

These parts are made of acrylic plastic.  Acrylic plastic does not behave like injection-molded polystyrene plastic or other resins.  Glues for polystyrene plastic, like "Testors Liquid Cement" or tube cement, will not work with acrylic plastic.  Cyanoacrylate (CA) "super glue" is recommended.
