Scale: 1/35

Set includes 5 torpedo warheads.  These models are not the whole torpedo, just the exposed nose section.

This set of accurately shaped torpedo warheads represents the US Navy's World War Two-era 21-inch Mk.15 Torpedo, the standard type fired from US Navy destroyers and destroyer escorts of the Fletcher, Sumner, Gearing, Benson, Gleaves, Edsall, Buckley, Rudderow, Butler and Sims classes and others.

Each torpedo has a small cube-shaped locator tab at the aft end to help set the torpedo at its correct position in the tube.  Once the torpedo is installed in the tube, remove the locator tab from the torpedo.

From Microworks.com: "In the battles of Vella Gulf and Cape St. George, destroyer attacks using [Mk.15] torpedoes sank six enemy destroyers without losing a single man, with a [seventh] (the legendary Shigure) escaping only because a torpedo hitting her rudder failed to explode....U.S. destroyer torpedoes also accounted for the only "dreadnought"-type battleship ever sunk in action by surface launched torpedoes, the Fuso, during the Battle of Surigao Strait."
