This model represents the rudder of celebrated US Navy aircraft carriers USS Lexington CV-2 and USS Saratoga CV-3. This model is intended as a replacement for the Trumpeter 1/350 scale Lexington and Saratoga kits' inaccurately shaped and sized rudder. The real rudders had a very complex shape captured in this design.
This model was designed to accurately reflect the shape and size of the real ships' rudder. It is scaled from official US Navy drawings. Some adjustment to your Lexington or Saratoga kit, including repositioning the kit's rudder hinges, may be necessary for best fit.
