This model represents the enclosed electric stairway (escalator) fit to the starboard side of modernized SCB-27 (straight deck) and SCB-125 (angle deck) Essex class aircraft carriers below the flight deck.  The real stairway carried personnel from the hangar deck to the interior of the island at the flight deck level.  This model is intended as a more accurate, better detailed direct replacement for the kit parts found in any 1/700 scale Essex class aircraft carrier model kit.  Although there was some variation in details between ships, this model captures features common to most Essex class aircraft carriers.

This product was scaled from official US Navy drawings and is designed to accurately reflect features and scaled dimensions of the real ship.  It is NOT a 3D-printed copy of any plastic or resin kit's parts and therefore may be sized and shaped differently than the kit parts it is intended to replace.  Some adjustment of your plastic kit's parts may be necessary for best fit.  Please compare the measurements below with your plastic kit's parts before purchasing this product.
