These models represents Blomefield 1790-pattern 9-pounder cannons.  Famously known as the "Long Nines", these weapons were fit to early 19th Century Royal Navy warships and played a significant role during the Napoleanic Wars.  The celebrated 74-gun ships-of-the-line, such as HMS Vanguard, carried as many as 18 of these cannons, 14 on the quarterdeck and 4 on the forecastle.  Frigates, such as HMS Diana and those of the Apollo class, carried four 9-pounders, 2 on the quarterdeck and 2 on the forecastle.

Although there were minor variations among real cannons, these models' scaled dimensions and details match dimensions from tables published in "British Smooth-bore Artillery: a Technological Study to Support Identification, Acquisition, Restoration, Reproduction, and Interpretation of Artillery at National Historic Parks in Canada" by David McConnell.  Their details were matched to those of surviving cannon.
