This pair of models represents the fighting tops of Tennessee class battleships USS Tennessee BB-43 and USS California BB-44 in their original configuration as they appeared from 1921-1934.
A set of USS Tennessee and USS California fighting tops as they appeared from 1935 through 1941 is available separately.
This model features open shutters all around. Overall dimensions are based on drawings made by Alan B. Chesley. Details were confirmed by careful examination of available photographs of the actual ship.
This fighting top configuration is specific to Tennessee class batleships. Other fighting tops for similar US Navy battleships are differently shaped.
