- 24 acetylene cylinders (short, fat cylinders)
- 24 oxygen cylinders (tall, thin cylinders)
High-pressure oxygen and acetylene cylinders, used for welding and cutting, were widely used by American military forces. They were carried aboard many American ships during World War Two. On Iowa class fast battleships, for example, these cylinders were stored in groups on racks fixed to the outer bulkheads in various locations (racks are not included).
These model oxygen cyinders' dimensions match scaled dimensions of steel "T" cylinders, which are 55" tall by 9.25" in diameter.
The model acetylene cylinders' sclaed dimensions match steel "WK" cylinders, which are 39" tall by 12.4" in diameter.
These models were designed from specifications found in various technical publications.
