Here is a downloadable scan of an official Royal Navy shipyard drawing of the captured Revolutionary War-era, Continental Navy, 36-gun, fifth-rate frigate USS Confederacy (1778).  The drawing was made by His Majesty's Dockyard Woolwich, Kent, England in 1781.  The drawing has been graciously made available to the public by the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London.

Following her capture by HMS Roebuck and HMS Orpheus in March, 1781, USS Confederacy was renamed Confederate.  She served for about 6 months with the Royal Navy but records indicate that she was never actually commissioned into the Royal Navy.

The drawing includes the body plan, stern board with decoration detail, sheer lines with inboard detail and figurehead, and longitudinal half-breadth. The drawing was made at Woolwich Dockyard and records her appearance shortly after her capture.  The plan includes a table of mast and yard dimensions.

National Maritime Museum, Progress Book, Volume 5, Folio 526, states that 'Confederate' (1781) arrived at Woolwich Dockyard and was docked on 18 November 1781. She was broken up there in March, 1782.
