Scale: 1/350

Set includes 4 turrets (no barrels).

Recommended to help build a late Cleveland class light cruiser from:

  • Iron Shipwrights 1/350 scale USS Birmingham CL-62 (1944)
  • Iron Shipwrights 1/350 scale USS Miami CL-89 (1944) ex-Gulfstream Models kit
  • Very Fire 1/350 scale USS Cleveland CL-55
  • Very Fire 1/350 scale USS Birmingham CL-62
  • and more!

Note: the Very Fire kits' barrels are molded in groups of 3, connected together on a trunnion, therefore will not fit through the bottom opening of these turrets without modification.  Model Monkey barrels, available separarely, are designed as individual barrels, not connected together.  The Model Monkey barrels will individually fit through the turret bottom opening.

These four accurate and highly detailed model turrets represent the four 6"/47 cal. Triple-gun Turrets mounted to the later ships of the US Navy’s Cleveland class of light cruisers, those fit with a "square bridge".  These turrets have integrated, welded rangefinder hoods.  Early ships of the class, those fit to "round bridge" ships, had bolt-on armored rangefinder hoods like those of the preceding Brooklyn class.  Early turrets for "round bridge" ships are available separately.

After World War Two, some ships of the class had the large rangefinder and armored rangefinder hoods removed from Turret #1.  When ordering, please specify whether you want a World War Two-era set (rangefinder on Turret #1) or a Post-war set (no rangefinder on Turret #1).
