High-pressure oxygen and acetylene cylinders, used for welding and cutting, were widely used by American military forces.  They were carried aboard many American ships during World War Two.  On Iowa class fast battleships, for example, these cylinders were stored in groups on racks fixed to the outer bulkheads in various locations (racks are not included).
 
These model oxygen cylinders' dimensions match scaled dimensions of steel "T" cylinders, which are 55 inches (140 cm) tall by 9.25 inches (23.5 cm) in diameter.
